Northbrook Days was in for a big change in its 95th year. Organizers of the annual five-day festival implemented an “emergency plan” to move the centerpiece of summer in the Village to Northbrook Court, due to park district restrictions on the use of Village Green Park. The Tower first reported the Macy's store inside Northbrook Court would be closing, despite the outcome of the mall's then-pending redevelopment proposal.The anchor store was a staple of the shopping center for more than two decades.
Northbrook native Justin Breen and his wife, Sarah, started 2018 with a New Year’s resolution to go out to dinner once a week, just the two of them, without their kids. When they completed the resolution, their story earned national attention — culminating with coverage on “The Today Show” in early January.
Northbrook native Alex Damisch won three “Jeopardy!” games during her appearance on the show. In total, the Glenbrook North graduate won $35,937.
